Yoga, an ancient and highly developed science of the body and mind is understood by most of it’s dedicated  practitioners , as a sophisticated system that permits phenomenal psychological and physiological evolution and healing.

It would be irrational to suppose that a system of this depth and power can be mastered in one month. The dilution of the venerable science of Yoga into an easy vocation through the one month TTC (Teachers Training Courses)  has been one of the enduring tragedies of the world of Yoga study, practice and transmission

5-month/1100-hour Teacher Training in Yoga : 18th March – 18th August 2020

AryaMarga Yoga has taken accountability for what we believe to be a restructuring of the existing Teacher Training Courses and through our highly intense curriculum deliver an unadulterated Yogic experience. Our aim is to recreate the style and content of teaching as was received personally by us from our Gurus of the ancient Lineage of Anuttara Yoga, a combination of the Hatha-Laya and Kundalini Yogas. Our courses are not particularly designed to be a career change, they are not vocational.

The 5 month ANUBHAVA YOGA TTC, or Experiential Yoga practice leads to a profound experience of authentic Yoga, it’s methods and views.  The actual experience within of the learned theory and techniques, using the experiential tools of ANUBHAVA YOGA TTC helps to develop an intuitive understanding of the therapeutic values of the asanas and psychological techniques learnt for the mind and body.

This in turn allows the student to move from being one who experiences the power of Yoga, to one who heals, and helps develop the bodies and minds of others with Yoga- a true teacher.

Anubhava Yoga TTC : 18th March – 23rd August 2020

The Anubhava Yoga TTC is an intensive training course which focuses on 4 aspects of Yoga : Hatha Yoga and its foundational Kriyas, Physiological therapy based on Yogic principles, Yogic Psychology and the Higher Level meditation practices from the Anuttara Yoga Tantra.

P-TAK 4 YOGAS: HATHA YOGA – THEORY & KRIYAS:

The first module of the Anubhava Yoga TTC consists of the introduction to the 4-Yoga system with particular focus on Hatha Yoga and its Kriyas. Students will be immersed into the P-TAK (Pancha Tatva Asana Kriya) or The 5- Elements postures sequence twice daily and move into the advanced sequence once a week. The students will also start daily Pranayama and Meditation for an hour and once a week there is the morning practice of Shatkarmas. The rest of the day are 3-4 theory classes consisting of the in-depth study of Hatha Yoga Pradipika, a continuation and deepening of Anatomy, further study of Samkhya Philosophy and the 5-Elements and how these affect our mental and behavioural constitution as well, and the analysis of Raja Yoga Sutras based on the Giri Lineage’s perspective.

PTAK sequence felt like the right balance of asanas with psychological and physiological changes showing up within few weeks of practice. – Pragna Yeraballi, Anubhava Yoga TTC, Class of 2018

YOGIC PSYCHO-SOMATIC THERAPY AND DISEASE PREVENTION:

In the second module of the Anubhava Yoga TTC, students undertake an in-depth study of the human body and its constituents from the modern medicine perspective as well as the ancient Ayurvedic perspective. The study of anatomy is in great detail and is applied to the asanas, their benefits, correct breathing process, alignments, assists, and modifications in a therapeutic scenario. Students will also learn about simple physiotherapeutic exercises to prepare a person for asanas in case they cannot perform the asanas yet. Moreover, students will also be studying Pathophysiology, Symptomology and Yogic Therapy for over 20 common lifestyle based ailments. To understand the Yogic view of disease, the students will be studying an introduction to the philosophy of Samkhya and the 5-Element system and how this applies to us externally and internally to the extend of preventing or developing disease through hormonal regulation. Aside from this, students will be practicing our 5-element harmonising asana kriya every morning, which is an intermediate sequence sequence as well as softer asana sequences specifically designed to alleviate symptoms, cure and prevent the specific diseases we will be studying.

YOGA PSYCHOLOGY:

The Yoga Psychology module is an intensive 30-day training on the 0-point system of Yoga Psychology that has been developed over the course of years of research on both our over 6,000 year-old Lineage, Buddhist teachings and contemporary Psychology. Students would learn about application of Yogic techniques in two separate areas- firstly, self- willed evolution for one’s own personality complex, and secondly, yogic psychological counseling for others based on Yogic diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic techniques.

Yoga Psychology Course

My favorite parts are Yoga Psychology (including personality types, Dream Yoga and many meditations) and the meditation retreat in Spiti where we put our new knowledge into more intensive practice.  You will go through so many changes as is the case of true healing and spiritual evolution, and you will learn how to help others achieve changes as well, so it is definitely worth it. – Nada Hamdan, Anubhava Yoga TTC, Class of 2017

KUNDALINI KRIYA & TANTRA YOGA:

Finally, the last module consists of the Tantra studies where the student dives in to the study of Tantra Yoga-Vijnanabhairava, the Mandukya Unpanishad, Mantra Vidya and the Bhuta Shuddhi Tantra Kriyas. Post the study of the texts and introduction to the practices, the students will go for two weeks to the mountains of Spiti Valley where he/she will engage fully in the Kriyas independently and advance in their personal experience of the higher Yogic practices of meditation in retreat.

Certification:

It is our belief, at Aryamarga Yoga, that to attain a minimum proficiency in the above 4 inter- related areas of Yoga, a minimum period of 5 months of intensive training is necessary.  With over 1100 hours of Yogic theory and practicals, the 5 month ANUBHAVA YOGA TTC culminates in a 4 day final examination. Successful participants of the course are awarded four certifications in Yoga:

  1. Yoga Asana, Pranayama, Mudra and Bandha Teachers Certification
  2. Yoga Psychotherapy Teachers Certification
  3. Yoga Physiotherapy and Disease PreventionTeachers Certification
  4. Kundalini Yoga Teachers Certification

We pride ourselves in conserving the legacy of the authentic yogic practices of the Ancient Masters, and through rigorous discipline achieve the most intense experience we believe a TTC course currently offers today.

My time at Arya Marga Yoga Institute has been so surreal.  It has been really comforting and exciting to know that we are learning true yoga from the source – the Naga lineage, which is where yoga came from in the first place.  The Institute’s focus on Raja Yoga and Kundalini yoga has been important for me since I am more spiritually inclined.

It has been so interesting to learn about the system of the 5 Elements and I have learnt so much about myself and others that way. You will not find this kind of approach in any other TTC and it is very important as each person has a different combination of elements and so we can offer them a tailored package of asanas, pranayama, mudras, and meditations accordingly.

The Aryamarga team members are so helpful, caring and accommodating, so I can assure you that you are in good hands if you join this 5 months program.

Nada Hamdan , Anubhava Yoga TTC, Class of 2017

I was looking for a yoga course that does not end in a month but instead continue for a longer duration giving me a chance to immerse in it completely. I found Aryamarga 5 month TTC course to be the best fit. Coming here, It took only a few days before we were completely mesmerised with how the course is arranged. PTAK sequence felt like the right balance of asanas with psychological and physiological changes showing up within few weeks of practice. Raja yoga classes gave a whole new level of understanding yoga in its complete essence and laid way for future growth. Overall the course has been a holistic approach of understanding the yogic sciences in theory and practice.

Pragna YeraballiPragna Yeraballi , Anubhava Yoga TTC, Class of 2018

I amusingly call myself a perpetual escapist. Driven by my whims, I left my 13th job (in 8 years), looking for yet another escape. That’s when I discovered the 5-months TTC course offered by Aryamarga. Coming here, I knew exactly what I’d been escaping from, all my life and how to finally confront it.

Call it serendipity, I found myself being a part of this close-knit circle of brilliant Yoga teachers and like-minded aspirants from around the globe. Because of the limited number of students, everyone gets enough room for self improvisation, getting a grip on the fine nuances of yogic practices, be it asanas, pranayama or kriyas.

What really got me hooked though were Roshan Ji’s philosophical elaboration on original Yogic texts – Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, Vijnanabhairava Tantra and Mandukya Upanishad – it’s rich, unconventional and unexpectedly humorous! His teachings inculcate you with wisdom and reverence without compromising on playfulness.

Full of adventure and surprises, the fortnightly trips to the uncharted territories of Himalayas are something to look forward to.

Half-way through the course, I am realizing this is not a yoga TTC course per se. It’s more like an off-the-mat guidance to knowing yourself, and others, more intimately, making more meaningful connections, and hence be able to navigate through life most skillfully — turning your very whims into your greatest strengths. Coming from the very fountainhead of the original Natha lineage, the teachings help you explore the deserted nooks and corners of your own psyche — the way psychedelics never can.

Beautifully located in the Himalayan foothills – bestowing energy, focus and clarity upon this place – the AryaMarga TTC offers a unique opportunity to experience an integrative approach of traditional and authentic teachings of yoga, embedded in the context of modern life.

The caring warmth of the teachers, their dedication and compassion carried me through an as intense as insightful experience, gaining deeper knowledge and understanding of yoga – in personal practice and in theory – and the processes of life itself, while establishing a more balanced and harmonious state of being.

A definite recommendation for all practitioners and teachers, who want to dive deeper,  strive for insight and are willing to spark their inner fire.

Manuel HoglManuel Hoegl, Anubhava Yoga TTC, Class of 2018

Overall, I found the 5 Month TTC to be a unique and enlightening experience. I arrived with a relatively basic knowledge of Yoga and was greatly impressed with the comprehensive course schedule. The breakdown of the program into four modules is well structured and enables students to focus on various aspects of Yoga independently and/or consecutively. With its range of classes, this program was exactly what I hoping for to expand my understanding of Yoga and set me on a path to deepen my personal practice and share with others. I found the level and quality of teaching to be exceptional, with multiple instructors from varying backgrounds greatly adding to the depth of the material. I am also especially appreciative for the opportunity to pursue part of the course in Tabo, Spiti Valley which served to heightened our practices. I am genuinely impressed with the initiatives being pursued by AryaMarga Society. It is an honour to have had this opportunity and I feel privileged to have been a part of this program. of yoga, embedded in the context of modern life.

Sabra Surkis, Anubhava Yoga TTC, Class of 2019

Personally I would highly recommend the five month course because it gives you a rare chance to study and focus intensely. I noticed that I was able to rapidly build on the foundations of the 45 day course and then develop and refine my understanding of key ideas in further modules. Every student who completed the five month course, including myself, underwent visible physical and psychological transformations.
